The 2008-09 winter snow season is underway.
We began with a light dusting of less than an inch.
We then got the infamous ice storm which knocked power out for
millions of New Englanders. We were down for about a week.
Less than a week later, the first measurable snow for the year
hindered the electric crews as they were still repairing the mess
left the week before. What a start! 3.50" and counting! December 20th
brought 8.0" of light, fluffy snow, just in time for Christmas. Another
storm is quick on it's heals, perhaps bringing the same amount of snow
to the area. This storm brought 11.00" to my backyard, providing an even
tougher challenge for the plows. As of Monday, the next day, roads are
still in pretty rough shape as Christmas shoppers scurry around for last
minute items. We are off to a great snowy start this winter!!
Total snow = 30.25"
The breakdown is as follows:
December 31st 6.00" (As of 11:30AM)
December 29th 0.50"
December 21th 11.00"
December 20th 8.75"
December 17th 3.00"
December 11th 0.50"
November 30th 0.50" (Infamous ice storm. No power for a week.)
