Warning Description: Flash Flood Watch
Warning Date: 3:24 PM EDT on July 2, 2009
WarningSum:...Flash Flood Watch Now In Effect Through Late Tonight...
Warning Message:The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for
* portions of western Maine and New Hampshire...including the
following areas...in western Maine...York. In New
Hampshire...Belknap...Rockingham...Merrimack...southern Carroll
and Strafford.
* Through late tonight
* showers will continue through much of the night along with a
chance of thunderstorms which could cause heavy rain at times.
* The ground is already saturated, water levels are very high and
some minor flooding has already occurred. Any additional heavy
rainfall will likely lead to flooding.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
